Company Profile

BlueSky Telemetry™ grew out of work pioneered by Dr. Ian Hulbert while developing and using GPS collars since 1995 and Mr Vincent Lynch of Salford Electronic Consultants who has worked in vehicular GPS/GSM tracking systems since 1999. Both believed a new approach to collar design and field support was required to enhance a scientist's ability to carry out high quality, peer-reviewed research.

Consultation with customers has driven collar design to ensure that products are user-friendly and cost-effective without compromising the high quality data expected. Cutting edge design is coupled with state of the art components.  BlueSky Telemetry™ research is synonymous with innovation and progress: BlueSky Telemetry™ aims to provide innovative and progressive products to the wildlife biologist.

Our pioneering approach to collar design includes input from leading authorities in the field of satellite wildlife telemetry and specific expertise from some of Europe's foremost micro-electronics companies and industrial design houses: Salford Electronic Consultants Ltd, Waterfield Electronics Ltd, Timos Designs, Zisys Ltd and Nimrod Saddlers. A strategic alliance with a high volume manufacturer of GPS technologies enables high volume and low cost production capabilities.

Through Dr. Ian Hulbert, BlueSky Telemetry™ provides scientific advice to assist clients from project inception and design, through product selection and application and on to statistical analysis, data interpretation and final report writing. Dr. Hulbert's extensive academic experience in laboratory and field techniques and wildlife telemetry includes work published in many, peer-reviewed journals including Journal of Applied Ecology, Oikos, Oecologia and Applied Animal Behaviour Science.
