Standard Harness
The standard harness is made exclusively for BlueSky Telemetry™ by one of the leading webbing manufacturers in the world. Known as HolloWeBTM, the core is made from high tensile polyester webbing while the exterior of the webbing is coated in PVC plastic. HolloWeBTM has been made in such a manner that allows the GPS antenna, GSM antenna, UHF and VHF antennas to be encapsulated within it. Unlike other collars available, the antennas are protected and cannot be damaged by direct or glancing blows. HolloWeBTM is extremely flexible and follows the contours of an animal's neck perfectly. Any neck circumference from 35cm to >3m can be designed. The harness is adjustable by 5% at the smaller circumferences but can be adjusted up to 15% for larger circumferences. The standard harness is fixed using nylon lock nuts. DropTraXTM can be fitted to the harness so that the collar can be programmed to remotely release itself from the animal either on demand or at a pre-programmed fixed time.
QRB Harness
BlueSky Telemetry™ developed the QRB harness, for agricultural research applications, where a collar is fitted and removed from an animal regularly, The QRB harness incorporates all the features of the standard harness but has a leather extension and brass buckle which allows easy fitting of the collar to a required fit. It is easy to use, particularly when an animal is not sedated.
NEW - Expansion Harness
BlueSky Telemetry™ has developed an expanable harness that can gradually increase in size as the animal grows. It even has the abiliyt to decrease in size should the neck size contract. One particular example is the neck size of deer expanding and contrating during the rutting period for deer stags.
Important Notice
Please note that when placing an order it is essential that you provide the correct neck circumference as failure to do so will result in poor GPS reception - any errors are very expensive to correct. Furthermore, collar build cannot commence without the correct neck circumference being provided.
